My Intro

 The ultimate purpose of this website is to share my enjoyment and satisfaction that I derive from this wonderful hobby of growing Gesneriads.  At the present time I am growing African Violets, Episcia, Sinningia, Smithinatha and Streptocarpus.  Over the past few years, I have done some crossing and as a result I am working with some of those seedlings to see whether they are worthy of a name.  This hobby has brought me a lot of pleasure, but also some disappointment and frustration where if it was not for some seasoned growers willing to share their knowledge I would have been at a loss.  One thing I have learnt and come to value is to listen to other growers who share their experiences, and I am always able to glean something from the discussion to improve my plant husbandry.  The greatest improvements in my growing culture came to me by this manner, so the development of this website is not only to share from my experience but also to hear from others on their successes and even failures.  It is my goal to have a new posting every two weeks to a month and be open to receive questions from the reader.  My hope is that this venture will develop a website to which growers form the beginner to the advanced could turn to as reference which will improve their growing results.
